hey, i am getting a new laptop for Christmas because i lost my admin password on my last one, the budget is strictly 500 euros, about 625 dollars or 390 sterling. it will haft to run stuff like mine craft and Sims on a reasonable settings. it will be used for gaming and watching movies. i would like it to be able to run hearthstone and maybe world of tanks.

i currently have my eye set on the "ACER Aspire E5-511"

It would be grate to have a large screen (but not necessary)
it does not have to have a long battery charge or be mobile as i will always be in the same place.

Any solutions welcome.

No that laptop is not enough for you needs. Without going too deep into technicals, the Pentium N3830 is a current generation of Intel's Atom CPU which is meant for tablets and entry level laptops. Processing power is decent... a little better than a 1st gen core i3 released in 2009. However, the integrated graphics is weak an not really good enough for current games.

I recommend the following HP laptop with a Core i3-4030u CPU with the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics core for €479.99. The Intel HD 4400 is good enough to play Minecraft and should be fine for...

I was in the same situation with needing a laptop but I skipped the bigger stores. I know you're not in the US because of a euro budget but I'd check local mom and pop shops near you. For instance I found http://www.americanlaptopwarehouse.com/ and bought a cheap used laptop for them for gaming. It is an Alienware M17x3 (forget exact model?) was about $2500 new and theirs was $600! Works great for the 9 months I've had it too.

The following video show Minecraft being played on a Sony VIAO Duo 13 laptop with a Core i5-4200u and the Intel HD 4400; it runs pretty well at 1920x1080 resolution. Keep in mind the Core i5-4200u runs at 2.6GHz vs 1.9GHz for the Core i3-4030u, but it is still more than enough to play Minecraft at 1366x768 which is a lot less stressful than 1920x1080.

Here's a video for the Sims 4 (medium graphics quality) running with the Intel HD 4400. Using lower graphic settings will improve performance.

I found a really good laptop under £400!

Here's the specs:

Processor: AMD A10 Quad Core 2.1GHz
Graphics: Radeon HD 8610G (Really good graphics card)
Memory: 8GB DDR3 - Buying faster RAM means you'll get the most performance from the graphics!)
Storage: 1TB HDD
OS: Windows 8.1
Size: 15.6 inches
Webcam: Yes, 720p
Ports:
1 HDMI
1 headphone/microphone combo
1 USB 2.0
2 USB 3.0
1 RJ-45

Speakers: Beats audio (Great for movies with rich sound)
WiFi: 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth® 4.0

In conclusion, this laptop is great for games and with 'Beats Audio' you can listen to movies with the best sound possible!

To be honest pretty good specs for surfing the web, but gaming it would do very weakly with an APU there is no graphic card, and from where have you heard its "Great" 533 - 626 (Boost) MHz thats like an upgraded version from the Integrated graphics in Intel cpus. But its cool 25 watt tdp (Thermal design power) and uses the Richland architecture.
