What would an A8-4500M APU upgrade entail?

Hi everybody, here's my question:

Okay, so i have my laptop running an A8-4500m, but my little brother's thingo runs a faster A10 AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Mine must be faster. I know an A10-4600m is ~100, something I could go for, but I want to know exactly what such an upgrade would mean. Is the A10-4600m the best chip to fit in the socket? And would my BIOS accept a better CPU? If you need models, it's a HP ProBook 455 G1. I really do hope it's as simple as plopping in the new CPU and off we go...

Solution

a10 4600 is lano and isnt compatible with the a8 4500m

the most compatible a10 out was richland based and used same socket
A10-5750M

id contact HP about upgrading the processor to this chip as they may have a bios to download...

though you may not get the max performance out of it since the memory on the a8 4500m laptops is restricted to 1600mhz ram i believe but you can ask of that as well as there maybe a program that can be updated for that too

overall the a10 richland will stomp all over the trinity a8 4500m as it clocks at 3.5ghz max
