When I save a Sony Vegas 12.0 file I'm working on, it is saved as a Vega 8.0 and I can't open it back up with full features?

When I save a Sony Vegas 12.0 file I'm working on, it is saved as a Vega 8.0 and I can't open it back up with full features? How to get it to save as a 12.0 file?

There should be a Save As option, and check the settings, it may have been set to save as 8 by default.
