when i try to install an operating system it doesnt show a hard drive to install on ive switched hard drives doesnt make any difference, also doesnt make any difference witch operating system i try to install it wont show any hard drives listed nothing listed in the BIOs either shows no IDE device i have a HP dv2500 laptop

Hi there Steve1120,

If you've tried using several drives in your laptop and none of them is recognized by BIOS, then there's a chance that the port is faulty.
I believe that the best thing you can do is to just take the laptop to a repair shop.
