When i turn on my laptop screen stays black only power light is on

i have toshiba satellite c660d.
i can hear the fan and hard disk running but screen stays black. I've tried to remove battery and hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds it didn't worked. what should i do? Also before it happened i started it in the morning as usual and it was extremely slow like it took 5 minutes to open a folder and the resolution was bigger than usual. video wasnt playing properly i think display adapter needed update idk. however now the screen is totally black.

Take out 1 RAM stick, see if that changes anything. Try each RAM stick in each slot 1 at a time and see if that makes any difference. See if you get anything on an external monitor.

I am facing a similar problem. My laptop was getting over heated since last couple of days and now it is just not getting booted.
When i am pressing the power button, the power light gets on and dies after 3-5 seconds.
I even tried by taking out the battery and have tried pressing the power button for 30 seconds.. but nothing worked.!!
Can anyone pls help.. i need to get this fixed asap
