When my laptop's plastic flexes in any way (aka i touch/move it) something shorts causing GPU artifacta and then a crash.

This occurs on my 950m while its being utilized in game (no issues outside of games).

If i place a little pressure on my laptop with my palm while playing or type it'll artifact and crash. If i move the laptop in almost anyway - same thing.

With the help of some great people on the internet I've deduced that something is shorting when the plastic flexes rather than the card actually being bad.

This happens plugged in, unplugged, and plugged in without the battery in the laptop.


Questions:
1. Do you think this hypothesis is correct?
2. When I open the laptop up what can i look for, loose cables? What causes a short.
3. Can i fix this on my own? If not can a professional fix this?

Hey guys so I have a 950M in my laptop and basically it will artifact/crash occasionally and from what I can tell it mainly is caused when I actually touch or move the laptop in a certain way.

If I rest my left palm (while playing a WASD game for isntance) too hard it could case it, or picking the laptop itself up or sliding it toward me on the desk while in game could as well.

Otherwise it works fine, sometimes I can go many days gaming without a single crash (sometimes even weeks/month).

It's not due to temps as I've checked them and they've never gone above 70ish, and it happens regardless of how long I've been playing in a certain session.

I've tried 10s of drivers and nothing so i don't think it is a software issue.

My question is this: if the card itself is bad and needs to be replaced how come it works fine most of the time except when I'm manipulating my laptop? (nothing is lose everything is screwed tight)
