Question Whenever I open my laptop, my friend hears a noise on his. Why is this happening?

I’m friends with him on discord and steam. My mic is muted on discord, and most likely steam as well. But those apps are both closed when I shut down my laptop and when I turn it on. I also have played Portal 2 with him and the mic there is muted too. I have the ASUS TUF fx505DD.
Like whenever I open my laptop, he’ll text me saying “I heard it again”. I’m not exactly sure what it sounds like tho bc he said he doesn’t know how to describe it.

He has a no idea. He just hears a sound. Not from any specific app. And he doesn’t hear me. Just some weird noise.

Also, has you friend ever connected his system directly to yours, or installed anything on your system that you are aware of?

Haven’t scanned my system recently. Not really sure what to use bc most scanners will be really annoying and give me pop ups
