Which Anti-virus gives the best laptop Battery life?

Hi,

I am really a guy that likes to get the most out of his laptop battery, and I wonder: Does anti-virus drain a lot of laptop battery, and which antivirus does this the least?

I am a big fan of Symantec Endpoint Protection, but have decided to try alternatives like Avast Free and Avira Free, just to see if I could get more battery life. It is really hard to find which antivirus drains the least battery.

I doubt that antivirus is a big drain in battery in normal operation.
A virus scan is another thing.

Unless you visit risky web sites or click on unsolicited emails a simple free program is windows security essentials(now defender with windows 10)

Symantec is aweful......Avast free is a great resource
