I'm undecided between the last McAfee and the last F-Secure.
Which is the best one?
Which the lighter one for the pc?

Thanks!!

Check out AVG by Grisoft. I dumped Norton for it and never looked back.

Plus it's FREE!

The regular norton antivirus sucks. I am currently using the corprate version and it is awsome. It is VERY small and uses very little system resources. It also gets updates more frequently than the home version does.

I read somewhere that AVG's detection rates were very poor... around 60%. But then, I'd guess there's a reason it's free...

Got a link, cuz that's be good to know if it does suck that bad.

In the few tests I've seen where peeps purposefully infect their machines and then ran various AV software to see if it detected it,AVG came out ahead of Norton, panda Mcafee etc.

I'd like to know if those were BS or if AVG has poor updates etc or whatever.

Thanks

It doesn't do us any good to recommend software that's unobtainable...I found the corporate version online, but the minimum purchase is for 5 licenses. Are you a small business owner or something? So, do you have any useful information for us? Or am I missing something?

I got it due to work having a site licence. There are probably less legitemate ways of getting it but I'm not going to dive into that territory here.

Lately, I've been using Avast...free for personal use. That and the gray matter between your ears should keep you out of trouble.

So it looks like Kaspersky and McKaffe is the best according to them.

Aye, but they hated McAffee because it's a memory hog... and it is constantly bugging you about one thing or another.

I recomend AVAST or NOD32. Both are great!
Avast is also free for non commercial use.
NOD32 is very fast and it has a very good detection module.

I always have the latest version of Mcafee, simply because I get their virus scan and firewall for free. (long story) Anyway, it rarely bug me about anything. And when it does alert me, it's just a small box that scrolls in from the right side of the screen. Doesn't pop out in the middle and block everything you're doing..... actually, that's probably the least annoying way I could think of....
