which gaming laptop

below are two gaming laptops from msi that i was looking at. im wanting is o use it for som gaming when im out allthough not much gaming but mostly for using programs like cinema 4d and autodesk maya for 3d animation and modeling and photoshop and lightroom etc when im away from my desktop at home. im torn between what i should get. i was even looking at the surfacebook 2 as well. im not settled on the two here at the below links from best buy. those are just w couple that i like the specs on. lighter would be nice but not a deal breaker just want something i can max the ram out in to 32 or 64, 64 gb of ram preferably. just want yalls input as to what yall think of these or are there others for better pricing that canbuave upgraded drives and ram unless it already comes with max ram.

i was looking at trying to get one that was thin and or lighter and not so heavy. recommendations from yall would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advanced for yalls help.

really dont have one allthough right now i have about $2100. im just looking to see what would be my best bet and see how

part of me wants a good gaming laptop but part of me wants ine that can also be used as a tablet like the too microsoft surfacebook 2. just dont know what really.

For your work if you get earning from it I would recommend increasing budget by $1000-1500($1000 more minimum) and going for Lenovo Thinkpad P71 with Quadro P5000 GPU as it is very powerful and suitable for productive work.
Check the Lenovo Thinkpad P71 directly on Lenovo site as you get options to customize as per your requirements.
You may ask why go for P5000 over P4000 and is it worth spending extra answer is yes as there is huge noticeable performance gain when you compare P5000 to P4000.

Besides that there is no big performance difference in the two you listed as one allows you to overclock CPU and other doesn't no big performance gain.

ok i’ll look at that one and see. i was thinking of getting one with a quadro but was leary of it if i wanted to game on it as well. that’s the price range i was thinking of even though it will take me a month or two to get it. i knew the quadro would be good for doing photoshop, 3d animation and rendering, and host of other stuff as well.

i didn’t realize that p5000 was a 16gb graphics card. are quadros able to game with at all some or no?

That’s what I customized so far. Not sure if there’s something that i should change on it or not. I was debating to do the 4K screen as well but thats more money. I have about 2000 or so right now but saving my money for it so just trying to figure out what i need to save for.

Don't go for that secondary 1TB HDD simply unless you have external storage ready for regular transfer of files. If you don't carry external storage go for 500GB HDD(500GB HDD because it costs no extra and can be used as external with enclosure) and simply swap it out with high capacity HDD(4TB).

oh ok... yea i have a bunch of external storage drives for sure. is it easy to put my own drives inside the laptop? hmmm not sure why the image isn’t showing fully. i’ll check it out and re-upload it.

i may go for that and just do the 500 and swap it out later with one i get from bestbuy or something that’s 4tb or so

cool... all i gotta do now is save up the. only to get it. how big as in thickness and such and what will this thing weigh u think?
