Hello, I'm looking for help or a recommendation for a 17" laptop for around $1k. I mostly surf the web, but I commonly have several web sites and apps open at the same time. I also want to be able to do minor photo and video editing (no gaming). I don't care about size, weight or battery. I just want it to be fast and reliable.

I'm considering one of these HP's Black Friday deals:

Omen 17t 17.3-inch Laptop w/Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SDD for $1199.99

OPERATING SYSTEM
Windows 10 Home 64

Intel® Core™ i7 9750H (2.6 GHz, up to 4.5 GHz, 12 MB cache, 6 cores)+NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Ti (6 GB GDDR6)

17.3" diagonal FHD 60 Hz IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) or for $100 more - 17.3" diagonal FHD 144 Hz IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)

MEMORY
16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)

STORAGE
512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD or 512 GB Intel® SSD + 32 GB Intel® Optane™ memory (currently same price)

HP Envy 17T 17.3-inch Laptop w/Intel Core i7, 1TB SSD for $999.99

OPERATING SYSTEM
Windows 10 Home 64

PROCESSOR AND GRAPHICS
Intel® Core™ i7-10510U (1.8 GHz, up to 4.9 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)+NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 (4 GB GDDR5)

DISPLAY
17.3" diagonal FHD WLED UWVA (1920x1080)

MEMORY
16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (2x8GB)

Any advise would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks - Rick

Fyi, Those laptop is used for different scenario. Omen for gaming and Envy for work. you said you're not into gaming. So, I assume that you don't need much performance. I recommend to pick the Envy one because it has latest Processor and more storage. but if you want best raw performance you can consider buying Omen. it also has better sound and design (if you like gaming laptop design)
