Which Laptop To Get

Hey guys, I’m at a loss. My friend is selling my his Alienware 17 for a 1000$, it has an i7-6700hq, 32gb ram, a gtx 1070, and idk storage. But some of my friends insist I should buy a current gen asus for the same price but a i7-7700hq, gtx 1060, and 32 Gb ram. What is the better choice? Or should I make a pc?

CPU gen between 6th/7th doesn't matter. Pick the one with the better video card if your intention is just gaming.

If you want other featurese that Alienware doesn't have, I'd look around.
