Hi Guys

Just looking for some general advice as to which laptop out of the two would be better?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-FX705GM-EV101T-17-3-Gaming-Notebook/dp/B07HH5XR8K/ref=sr_1_58?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1540909775&sr=1-58&refinements=p_89:ASUS&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiauz-Lfl3gIV7ZXtCh1MegOREAAYASAAEgJy9fD_BwE

https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asus-rog-core-i7-8750h-8gb-1tb-128gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-1060-17.3-inch-windo-gl703gm-ee063t/version.asp#/specs

I'll mainly be playing RPG's such a skyrim, witcher 3, fallout 4 as appose to FPS's so i feel an IPS screen would be better suited, yet the 'IPS level display' quoted for the FX705GM seems a bit confusing.

To add to that i believe the ROG version is marketed as the higher end model and has G-sync.

Any advice / opinions or alternatives for a similar price would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Solution
The one from Amazon, larger SSD, double the RAM other specs are the same. Not sure about IPS, neither of those have an IPS screen. If you want an IPS screen, those would not have 120 or 144hz refresh rates in a laptop.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated

I've found laptops which do claim to run at 120hz with an IPS screen:

https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=3ZV26EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB&lang=en-GB&gclid=CjwKCAiAodTfBRBEEiwAa1haupd-HCxHEvJ2LuCQ-GVPHnpkSg7Iuf9MLuzbCX32HHUrvdNv8gsPIhoCgeoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

My main concern now is would it be beneficial to half the RAM and SSD size in compromise for a better viewing experience? (or, from what ive researched on IPS screens vs TN a supposed better viewing experience)

Thanks again

You may want to double check that IPS screen spec.
