Which of these laptops is the best for light gaming?

1. Intel Core i7-4500U / NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M 2 GB / 4GB RAM

2. Intel Core i5-5200U / AMD Radeon R7 M260 2GB / 8GB RAM

3. Intel Core i5-5200U / NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M 2GB / 4GB RAM

Which one of these will run the games that are a bit older/less demanding decent? (Hearthstone, DOTA 2, League of legends)

The 3rd option is the best in terms of pure gaming.

The nVidia 840m is definitely the most powerful GPU of the bunch and it will give you the best gaming performance. While the 940m is not considered a "gaming GPU" the three games you listed are not very demanding at all and they will run fine with the 940m. LoL is the least demanding and it is possible to play that game using the integrated Intel HD 5500 at 1080p resolution with very high graphic settings at a consistent 30+ FPS. With the 940m you should be able to get 60 FPS pretty consistently.
