Hello.

I need to buy a new laptop. Besides regular use as watching movies, surfing the web etc. I will be using the laptop for web development(both front and back-end. I dont use Image editing software frequently).

A plus would be if I would be able to play fortnite(low settings doesnt matter as long as it is playable) but its not a requirement.

I have been looking on these two laptops(I have a discount on them) and wonder which one you would recommend for me since I have a very hard time choosing between them(i am not good at hardware).

I hope that someone can help me

ASUS VivoBook 15 F510UR
Basic info:
i7-8550U
8gb DDR4 SDRAM (I will buy an extra RAM so it will have 16gb)
GeForce 930MX
~796USD total
here it is

HP Pavilion 15-ck005no
Basic info:
i7-8550U
8 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM
GeForce MX150
~957USD total
here it is

Thank you for the answer. Why would you pick the HP one?
My current laptop is a HP and I have had some problems with fan noise and overheating. Is the newer HP models better when it comes to that?

Will 8gb be enough in the nearest 4-7 years for me?

I just like to have better GPU. and MX150 is considerably better than 930m
But if that comes at expense of the RAM, definitely go for Asus.
If you want something reliable/durable, look at the business lines from Dell and Lenovo.
ThinkPads are the best IMHO

Hm.
The only thinkpad that goes within my budget is L580.
i7-8550U
8gb 2400 MHz
Intel UHD Graphics 620
link

would you recommend it over the asus 16gb one?

I love xps 15 but its way to expensive for me

you will love the keyboard on the thinkpad. and the trackpoint is the best when it comes to do things without moving the hands from keyboard. though trackpoint worked for me only on ThinkPads. Dell's and HP's implementation was not that good.
As for the RAM, 8GB is enough to start with. you can always add another stick later. And they are not that expensive at about 80$ for 8GB module.
Just pay attention that you get the FHD monitor model.
