Which tv to purchase lg 55ef9500 or samsung un55js850dfxza

The lg is twice the price, but is it a considerably better picture/tv?

It'll be going in a living room which gets considerable light during the day in case that makes a difference.

lg 55ef9500 is the far better tv out of the two. It uses OLED tech, so its picture quality can't be matched.

Setting those two real decent Samsung LCD sets aside and the LG OLED and the issues they have maybe a 4K HDR compatible wide color gamut Sony XBR 55X850C or 55X8505 or X85C ( same thing ) .

TBH I would wait for Sony to get into OLED before I went that way but with the 2017 HDR models and the 4000 nIT 1000 LED Zone HDR monster prototype they have they might not need to !

Aside from a superb Samsung 64f8500 1080p Plasma I have the stonking good 4K Sony XBR 55X850C in here next to the PC ......it can make stonking good pictures day or night but better at night like any TV and it has Android TV , it's adequate in a bright room but the two Samsungs can go significantly brighter than the Sony X85C or the LG OLED with the Samsung JS 9500 being the brightest of all of them .

Both of the Samsungs are stonking good also and the Samsung JS 8500 is real decent , wide color gamut HDR compatible like the Sony where the JS9500 is a 1000 nIT full on HDR monster and if you like flat screen the Samsung JS9000 is an HDR nIT monster too! .
