Hi! I have an old Dell Inspiron N5010 that has something wrong with the screen. I have connected it up to an external monitor and it works fine, so that is not the issue. I think the problem is more the built-in screen in the laptop than anything.

So anyway, the screen seems to get slowly accumilate a pure white coming from the middle and the sides of the screen if i don't push on it a certain way. Because i can fix it easily by pushing on it I think something might of gone loose in the monitor (mabye old glue disconnected, ect) that is easily fixed. I don't have a warranty so I need to do it myself. Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong?

The screen has an 'inverter' circuit just under the LCD panel, inside the bezel. Unscrew the LCD screen from the mount. If you slightly bend the inverter at some position then the screen may work perfectly in that condition. Put a stuffing of paper or something behind the inverter circuit at the position where you applied the pressure. Scree the screen back.
