Solved! Why do Windows XP laptops have 3 wire cooling fans while Windows XP desktops have 4 wire cooling fans

One is a laptop other is a desktop. The fact they are XP does not matter. You have cars that run on gas with 4 cylinders and some with 6 or more, just because they have a common thing like they all use gas does not mean anything else needs to be the same.

Basically because XP is Stone Age software so the hardware will be of the same era.
