Solved! Why does my laptop's screen turns blank and the audio disappear when I connect my laptop to an hdmi port?

Before my ASUS laptop screen appears and the audio works fine even if I connect it to an HDMI port for LCD, recently it's not working anymore. The screen turns blank whenever I connect to HDMI and the audio only works if I remove the HDMI connection. Is it something to do with a setting or is there a problem with my laptop?

after connecting your LCD, press and hold the key "windows" then press "P". You can cycle than through some options

eventually you will have to set the correct audio device in the windows "sounds" menu
