Why does my SB-800 flash go off 2 times

I use a SB800 with a d3200. the flash is going off 3 times wit every shot. `did this after i used it as a remote flash. Please give me a step by step way to switch it off.

Is it set to bracketing? Your manual will explain this.

I have YN-568ex on D700 and the flash also goes off 3 times before a shot. This happens only in M, AV, and S modes when using on hot-shoes, but not in off-camera or auto-flash mode. It's just irritating to see three quick flashes. Is it due to bracketing, non-ttl, or manual mode?

Ah, I figured it out finally. It's due to "red-eye correction" option enabled in flash. Once I removed it by pressing flash button on my camera and rotating my main dial to take red-eye correction icon off, the problem was solved.
