Why is the Bluetooth icon flashing red and blue on my phone

Samsung G600, an old phone I know, but the phone was paired with our car, but now it's not, and when we try pairing phone to car the Bluetooth icon flashes red then blue.

Have you got a manual for the phone? Or can you look on line? It might explain.

Maybe the phone is running an old version of bluetooth and the car a new one. There's a few versions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth
But I thought anything like this would be backwards compatible.
