Why My Computer Turns Off After Orbit Downloader Completes Downloading Files?

As per the Orbit Downloader’s default configuration, this should not happen. According to the factory settings that are applied on the Orbit Downloader, the computer remains powered on even after all the download processes are successfully completed.

In your case, if you are facing the issue as mentioned in the title of this tutorial, the chances are that any incompatible application or any novice user has accidentally enabled the automatic shutdown option that is already present in the Orbit Downloader application.

Although there is no harm in leaving even such setting intact and allowing the computer system to shut down automatically after all the download processes are complete, this configuration might be annoying for the users who like to leave the Orbit Downloader downloading processes in the background and keep doing their personal works simultaneously. In such cases, if the computer initiates the shutdown process after successfully downloading the files, the users may lose their unsaved data which might further cause them heavy loss.

Considering the above situation, it is important that you, as an end-user, must know how to disable the auto shutdown feature in the Orbit Downloader if, by any means, it has been accidentally enabled.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader to keep the computer system powered on even after all the files have been successfully downloaded.

Here is what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, click the Show/Hide Main Window option.

■On the opened Orbit window, which is the main interface of the application, click the Tools menu from the menu bar.

■From the displayed list, uncheck the Turn Off Computer When Done option. (Since this option works as toggle, if it is already checked, clicking it one more time world uncheck it.).

■Once this is done, you should temporarily pause all the running download processes and restart the Orbit Downloader in order to allow the changes to take effect.

■Once the application is restarted, you can then resume the download processes.
