Hello, i am needing help with my laptop. The laptop is a lenovo y410p. I have had this laptop for awhile and have replaced the motherboard in it before. Recently I have been having trouble connecting to the internet and have worked for hours and have not been able to find a solution. I cant connect through the ethernet either. It has nothing to do with the router or modem because other devices connect perfectly fine. I even got a new wifi chip to put in it (the exact same one) but because of the lenovo blacklisting it doesnt read it. When I go onto the connections it always says "no internet, secured". On start up my computer always tells me that the antivirus needs updating but I cant update it because there is no connection. It also pops up with "microsoft family features" and when I push verify it just dissapears. (I dont know if that has anything to do with it). Thank you for any help you can give.

Solution
1. Are you sure you've connected the cables correctly? Check this service manual, page 42:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_y410p_y510p_hmm.pdf

Some models have 2 cables, others have 3.

2. Try and disconnect the Bluetooth feature.

3. What is the FCC-ID of your WiFi card?

4. Is your WiFi card the Intel Centrino N2230 or Centrino N7260?

5. What is the FRU number of your WiFi card?

According to a Tom's thread from September 2013, there's an official White List with these cards:
