will sound bar work through cable box only, TV ports it working

My TV ports will not work on my Samsung TV, but my speakers are still operable. My question is will a sound bar work connected to my cable box only, without connecting to TV

Yes, the soundbar can be connected directly to the cable box, and the audio will be fine. Just be aware that the volume then cannot be controlled with the TV remote control.
