Solution
Afaik the chip will not be soldered it will be in a very simple to undo socket..see online videos.

The chip will certainly fit and work as per spec, I recommend you use the free "Slimm Drivers" utility to update your existing drivers from intel etc (they will likely be outdated) before you replace the chip for good measure/compatibility, you will get a USB type message regarding the new chip when you get to desktop.

Use some thermal paste and clean the "fluff" from the heat sink/vent by the fan assembly for best results. Don't be surprised if the T9900 actually is "better behaved" as the stepping regime etc is "more efficient" than in the P8400 I replaced recently.

Also go to "change advanced power settings" and set the "minimum...
It is almost never possible to upgrade the CPU or GPU in a laptop. For one thing, they are permanently soldered to the motherboard. For another, the more powerful replacement is likely to dissipate more heat, and the board and case wouldn't support it even if it were possible to remove the existing chip and replace it.

Sorry, you can't do that except in machines specifically designed to allow component updates. And those tend to be quite expensive, since the manufacturer has to make up the lost follow-on sale for the upgrade.

Go for it it will be well worth the effort..trust me.

p.s don't forget there are other chips in this series that will fit and are usually cheaper...but not quite as speedy.

thanks for the advice! i will upgrade it..but i might go for P9700 instead bcs its TDP is lower (28W vs 35W)..
Thanks again! :D
