at that resolution, mostly medium... but that processor will hold you back more if you decide to play games with are optimized for more cores, such as battlefield 4, since you have a ULV i7, you only have 2 cores - 4 threads unlike most mainstream i7s which are 4 cores and 8 treads. but normal offline gaming shouldn't be too much of an issue.hope this helps. also older games should run at higher settings and even anti aliasing enabled.

i say this is if you want a smooth gaming experience. by that i mean around 60fps. but feel free to find out where your comfortable with "play-ability". (turn up the eye candy until you averaging 35fps) still playable, but nowhere buttersmooth

those games are just as cpu intensive... so hope you don't bottleneck that card. as for fps (provided the cpu is not a bottleneck) , ill say around 30-40 fps at 1080p at the high preset. not sure about arma 3 though

Wrong. Rule of thumb with NVidia, if it is a x60,x70 or x80 it is made for gaming,
if it is a x50 or less model it is a entry level card NOT made for gaming but general use.
Case in point, NO you will ONLY get playable scores IF your on LOW - Med settings and LOWER (not 1920x1080) resolution. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-850M.107795.0.html

Battlefield 4
low 1024x76878 78.8 100.7 108.9 127.6 129.7 ~ 104 fps
med. 1366x76858.7 59.9 81.1 84.2 89.8 90.1 ~ 77 fps
high 1366x76843 45.2 55.4 56.4 58 58.3 63.1 65.1 ~ 56 fps
ultra 1920x108017.6 18.9 19 20.4 20.7 21 25.7 26.2 ~ 21 fps

Arma 3 wasn't even listed and considering BF4 poor scoring unless you drop down the display settings, I am really doubting your going to get any 'better' then this, as most games listed (2012-2015 titles) it sucks bad at, unless you drop down display AND graphics level. The card seems to be more suited for Pre2011 titles and older (Skyrim, Bf3, BF2, etc.).

However with that link, I scrolled down to actual game benchmarks and saw that many games are over 30FPS on High which is playable when it comes to laptops. There were even games that it could play on ultra.

i completely agree with you, also
you can play low-med at 1080p but 768p is preferred for this card. if you want the eye candy atleast. i personally prefer sticking to the native resolution .. so i sacrifice appearance.
btw what do you think of my rig?
i7-4710HQ OCed 3ghz simultaneously (4 cores)
gtx 970m OCed 22.8%
8gb ram
1080p 17 inch ips moniter 60htz
200watt power supply (sold separately)

the laptop is a asus g751jt

good enough?

Not in the way YOUR representing it. I was specific, while your being vague, which is misleading to the OP.
The only way many games played over 30FPS on HIGH was (as I said) the video display was dropped down to 720P or lower (OP said he was using 1080p) AND / OR was a older pre2011 game title (aka NOT BF4 as OP asked for) did the 'performance' of the game improve. So again, your statement isn't correct in the vague way it is stated, and the OP can see for him/herself what they WILL get at WHAT settings, then some generalized guesstimates your saying.

Not sure on the 200W is enough for that system, especially as your OCing. But as I pointed out a x70 is considered a gaming card, and that is a nice rig, which you can use the same site I posted to see the specs.

for example you can max out BF4 and still crank 50sFPS
