Windows Defender will not piss off

I got a virus and it completely wrecked Windows Defender now I got rid of the virus and now Windows Defender is still broken keeps getting this error code. All I want to do is delete * Windows Defender it refuses to open, there's no install option and if I try manually detete it it says I don' have perms to delete it, I can't do anything towards it. So my question is how do I get rid of Windows Defender

1. go to Start-> Control Panel -> Programs -> Uninstall Program.
2. Find Windows Defender in the list.
3. Highlight Windows Defender, then click uninstall.

You should be good to go.

Windows defender is part of window, you can't just uninstall it. Reinstalling window I'm guessing is the only way unless there some files or repair method by Microsoft.

You are right! In my mind he was talking about Microsoft Security Essentials. My Apologies!

What the error code? Windows Defender should disable itself if you install another anti virus.

My OS is Windows 10, the error code is 0x80073b01 I've tried loads of stuff to repair it but it is still broken
