windows live mail problem

when i try to retrieve my emails from my hotmail account i get this error

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account. Signing in to Windows Live ID failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

i found out that Windows Essentials which has windows live mail is no longer supported by xp and i tired instaling just windows live mail and it says it is not a win32 application.

You have to use outlook now, you can login by typing in your internet browser outlook.com.
