Wireless Printing!

Greetings! I have a wireless network which includes my
new HP 5850 WiFi printer (which btw is awesome!). I was
surprised that there is no print command or option in any
program in Windows Mobile 2003! I would love to connect
wirelessly from my Dell Axim X3i to my HP 5850. Does any
one know how, or know of any software to accomplish this?
Thanks and God Bless!

Greetings! Answering my own question...wishing I had read
the NG a little further along...there was a post with the
superb WiFi website:
http://wifi.aximsite.com/wifi_net.html
Right there was a link to HP Mobile Printing software!!!
I just downloaded the software and installed it and then
added my HP5850 WiFi printer to my Dell Axim X3i and have
already printed directly from the Axim!!!! Hallelujah!

Thanks and God Bless!

I was pretty excited by this thread. I DL'ed the software, set it up and
mapped my network printer. Unfortunately, HP didn't build in any support
for their HP Deskjet 722C so nothing will print (I see it go through the
queue on the server though). The printer's not that old, introduced about
3.5 years I believe. But it doesn't make much sense to me. Anyone know why
it would be so difficult to build in support for most of their DJ's. I
would imagine they'd all be relatively similar from a driver standpoint.

Thanks!

You might want to search around and see if the 722c is similar to some
other model that is on the HP Mobile Print list.

For example, my Canon BJC-85 is not on the list and is not the same as
the supported Canon BJC-80. However, I was told (and confirmed) that the
Epson LQ driver works fine with the Canon printer.

If you want to set up CUPS you can print to pretty much any printer that
CUPS will support.

What is CUPS? My HP PSC 1350 also does not seem to work with HP Printing
Software

Its probably only a useful suggestion if you have a Linux/Unix machine
handy, although I think it is capable of being compiled/run on Win32
systems.

Its basically a print server, supporting IPP (and Samba printing like
Windows uses). The nice part is that you can turn any supported printer into
a generic postscript printer with it.
