Hello community,

Situation:

1. Moving into new home that has existing ceiling speakers.
2. Currently Own this 2.1 (wireless sub) system - https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=HTCT260&LOC=3#/howtoTab

Want:

1. Setup cheapest solid system to run speakers and setup wireless subwoofer (do not want to run wires).
2. Would love to use the current (subwoofer from my sony system if possible - though I have not seen this to be an option).

This is the receive I am looking to purchase:

Appreciate any recommendations you may have.

The sub uses Sony Securelink to connect to the soundbar. No clue what that actually is. You could try pairing it to your phone to see if works via bluetooth. Then a bluetooth transmitter connected to the sub out of the receiver would work.
It would be possible to disassemble the soundbar and just save the parts needed for the wireless sub but it would not be simple or worth the effort.
You could try connecting the soundbar aux input to the receiver subwoofer output. You will need a cable with a 3.5mm stereo mini plug at the soundbar and two RCA plugs at the receiver. You will only use one of these RCA plugs since the sub out is mono. Either one is fine.
That would send only bass to the soundbar so it shouldn't produce any sound from the soundbar itself.
Don't know if it will work well but not hard to try.
