I'm looking into recording some gaming and creating some YT videos.

I recently picked up an Elgato HD60, and a cheap laptop. The laptop only has an AMD A8 processor, though, and really struggles with the elgato software. I am going to return that and get an affordable laptop with an intel i7, and later create a dedicated setup when funds allow it.

Here are the 2 models I'm looking at, and I'm also open to other suggestions if the prices are comparable:

A.) Do you think either of those would get the job done.

B.) In terms of editing software, would windows movie maker be sufficient early on? If not, could you recommend a video editing software? I know Sony Vegas Pro is a great option, but it's a very expensive program. A more affordable alternative would be preferable, at least for the time being.

Those are not gaming laptops, you NEED a discrete GPU to get good gaming graphics. If you want your viewers to be entertained well, then low settings with HD graphics isn't enough.

This should be okish for your needs, defiantly better than low settings though: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232376

Move maker Is pretty good for guys who don't want to do a lot with their vids, but if you want to get creative then I suggest something like Blender.

Perhaps I should have specified - I'm recording PS4 game play, and need a good PC that can run the elgato software.

With that said, the link you posted is a good option. Only downside is it's i5 vs. i7. On the elgato website, they recommend an i7 if you want to stream, though I could always make a dedicated PC next year.
