Title says it all.
When I play games and run some music from YouTube in the background, I seem to be getting problems with my CPU percentages going high because of YouTube, even on 144p. So, is there a way to make YouTube (or outside sources) to only load the audio of a video without loading the video itself? My thinking is that it could also help reduce internet bandwidth (am I correct?) and make it faster.

you'll have to convert the files to formats acceptable by youtube, and they aren't mp3 or wav.
here's a tutorial from google's own support on how to make it happen.

once the file's ready, you can just go to YouTube, log in, click the upper-right Upload...

once the file's ready, you can just go to YouTube, log in, click the upper-right Upload icon and start uploading the video. Note that you have to have a channel of your own before you can start uploading

Alternately, yo ucan use soundcloud or spotify to run audio from the web or better yet, play it locally without going online because chrome consumes a huge chunk of resources.
