Solved! Zenith laptop

I've a zenith laptop Its working well but cd drive get damage after changed
dvd drive its quite fine and working well but problem is this drive is not play bootable cd ie window xp, I've checked in BIOS the secondery IDE is disabled i've done many settings but i can't able to enable and now this drive is running on PIO mode. the drive is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM-GSA-T40L.

Two things: -
-see if you can set the drive to work in DMA mode: http/www.real-knowledge.com/dma.htm
- the firmware on the DVD rom should be a"master" one. Go online and look for some drive utilities that check for that, see if the manufacturer provides links for the firmware and upgrading options. Careful, playing with the firmware incorrectly can brick the drive.
