Netflix is a great source of content for all ranges, genres, and ages. But like all platforms which host content of such a large variety, Netflix too requires a certain amount of supervision if left to the hands of a non-adult person. Of course, there is a ‘kids’ setting in Netflix which filters out all the shows with profanity and nudity, but as a parent, you are bound to feel that a certain show or movie might be a bad influence on your child, especially for their age.
This is why Netflix has allowed the option to block individual shows and movies on their platform, beyond the usual ‘kids’ setting. So if you are a parent who is worried about their child’s misuse of the streaming platform, here’s how to block individual shows on Netflix.
Step 1
Sign in to 'Netflix'
Log onto 'Netflix.com' and click on the 'Manage profiles' button.
Step 2
Set up the Profile
Change the profile which has been set up for the kids back to its regular form and click on ‘save’ to save the changes you made.
Step 3
Switch User
Now switch the user profile to the one that is used by the children.
Step 4
Search for the Show
Search for the show or movie you would like to block and click on the ‘thumbs down’ button which appears on the thumbnail when you hover your mouse pointer over it.
Step 5
Change the profile back into the ‘kids’ setting and now the particular show or movie will be blocked from that particular user profile.
You can also do this for multiple shows and movies at once and it is a great way to ensure that your children are not affected by any negative content by watching it at a young age. In case you notice that the show or movie has not disappeared then restart the system and it should definitely work.
