How to Remove Connections on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a website that can help you stay connected to business associates or other people you know well. It is different from Facebook due to its focus on professional networking and contacts. If you wish to remove a connection, you can do so by following the steps below. After you do this, they will not be able to request to connect with you.

Step 1: People that you are connected with on LinkedIn are first degree connections. Start by going to the first-degree connection’s page that you wish to remove.
Step 2: Next to your connections profile picture, you will see the option to send that person a message with a little arrow pointing down. If you click on “Send a message” there will be a drop down box that appears.
Step 3: Click “remove connection.” It will be the last option in the drop down menu.

Step 4: You will be presented with the effects of removing the connection. Once again, click “remove.”

Recap: You cannot remove a connection from your cell phone. It must be done with a computer. The connection will not be notified of their removal, but all endorsements will be removed. They will also no longer be on your contacts page. If you change your mind later on, you still reserve the option to request for that person to connect with you. Removing a connection can also be done through your settings options, but it is easier to just go directly to their profile.
