For people who use more than one Apple device it can get quite tiresome to download the same items over and over again in all these devices. One of the most cumbersome processes among these is the task of shifting all the music from one iTunes app to another and most people get this wrong as well or are unable to do it. But if you own a MacBook Pro you can use one its features titled ‘HomeShare’ to easily share music between the iTunes of different devices.
Follow these steps below to learn how to use the HomeShare option on your MacBook Pro:
Open the ‘iTunes’ app from your list of applications or from the menu.
Open the ‘File’ tab from the overhead menu and select the ‘Home Sharing’ option and turn it on by clicking on ‘Turn on Home Sharing’.
Log in with your ‘Apple ID’ and ‘Password’ when prompted.
Click on the ‘iTunes’ tab on the overhead menu and click on the ‘Preferences’ option.
In the dialog box that opens click on the sharing tab and make sure the option titled ‘Share my library in my local network’ is ticked. Or if you want to share something specific and not the entire library, tick the ‘Share Selected Playlist’ button and select the playlist you want to share.
Once this is done all Apple devices such as an iPhone or an iPad will be able to access the entire iTunes library present on the MacBook Pro.
Things to note:
- • All the Apple devices must be connected via the same Apple ID for this feature to work.
• All the Apple devices must be connected to the same wi-fi network for this feature to work
