I Don’t Want Orbit Downloader to Save Downloaded Files in System Drive

When the Orbit Downloader is installed on the computer, and is not manually configured, by default it is set to save all the downloaded files to the C:\Downloads folder. Although there is no harm in leaving the default settings intact, if you keep downloading the files that are larger in size in the system drive, you might end up having a fully occupied drive. Since it is important to keep the system drive, which in most cases is C:\, free as much as possible, you might want to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader to save the downloaded files to any location other than the C:\ drive.

Making such modifications in the Orbit Downloader program does not require any administrative rights, and therefore even if you are using a non-administrator account that has very limited privileges, you can easily get the job done. All you need to have is that you must know where you want to save the downloaded files, and the target location where you want to redirect the downloaded files must have sufficient amount of free disk space in order to get uninterrupted download experience.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to configure your instance of Orbit Downloader to save the files to a location other than the system drive (C:\).

Here’s what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.

■In case the changes are still not reflected, restart the computer and then try again.
