Just like any other decent and sophisticated Windows-based application, even the Orbit Downloader also has its built in scheduler that allows you to start and stop the downloading processes at the scheduled time. In many cases it is not required that you set the downloading start time because it is you who needs to initiate the download process as per your individual preferences and convenience.

However the things are not same when it comes to stop the download processes. You might want the Orbit Downloader to automatically stop all the download processes at a particular time as per your schedule when you know that the users in your network would require decent Internet connection speed to perform certain mission-critical tasks.

During those peak hours, if your Internet bandwidth is consumed by the downloading processes, the users might fail to perform their mission-critical tasks efficiently and within the given time frame. As per the example in this tutorial, if you want your instance of Orbit Downloader to stop all the download processes daily at 7 PM, you must configure the application accordingly.

After following the instructions given in this tutorial, you will be able to schedule your instance of Orbit Downloader to automatically stop all the download processes exactly at 7 PM. This schedule would be repeated automatically on a daily basis.

Here is what you need to do:

■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.

■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.

■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.

■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.

■On the opened Preferences box, from the left pane, click to select the Scheduler category.

■From the right pane, check the Stop download at checkbox.

■In the available field, type the time at which you want the download processes to be stopped automatically. (19:00 for this demonstration.).

■Once done, click OK to save the changes that you have made.

■Restart the Orbit Downloader in order to allow the changes to take effect.

■If the modifications are still not reflected while using the application, restart the computer and then try again.
