    Solved! I have a Dynex L40-10A that has a 60 cycle hum in the speakers.

    Fixed! C42 was a 100mfd @16 volts capacitor that needed to be in the circuit. I noticed that a capacitor next to it was not supposed to be in the circuit and I removed it. That solved all the problems and the set has been returned to the veteran as good as new.

    Solved! I have a Dynex L40-10A that has a 60 cycle hum in the speakers.

    This unit had a power problem turning on, so I replaced capacitors on the main board and the power supply board. Since doing this I have a 60 cycle hum coming through the speakers.
