    There is 4 sticks of RAM, 4GBs apiece. The only 2 sockets that don't seem to work together are 3 and 4, which are on the underside of the laptop.

    Wow that took a few hours. Ok, so I swapped sockets 1 and 2 for 3 and 4. Continuing to have the same problem as before. It won't boot up with RAM in sockets 3 and 4, but both sockets and both sticks of RAM are good.

    I'm not sure what you are saying, can you elaborate? Are you telling me I should remove the MB and try to put 1 of the sticks on either side?

    Alright, so after some trial and error I've come up with the following results: Both sticks of RAM are good. Both sockets on the motherboard are good. The only time I could not get the computer to boot up was when BOTH sticks of RAM were installed in either order.

    Ok, so it turns out that the ports on the underside of the MB are sockets 3 and 4. I took the sticks out and it booted up. Now, is there any way to figure out which stick is bad, and if one of them is still good can I run it in socket 3, or does it also need a stick in socket 4 for the 2 to work?
