I just gave it a try and it worked! I connected the speaker connections from the old receiver to the CD input of the newer receiver and am now able to play my old receiver components through the new receiver on the CD setting.

I have two receivers that I am trying to connect to be able to play either on the same set of speakers. One receiver is a newer and is used for our TV, DVD, satellite, etc. The other receiver is pretty old and is connected to a phono and cassette player. Neither has any output audio connections...
