rico21, he's talking about mobile GPUs. In this case the HD 8850m is better than the GT 650m. It will get better framerates definitely. Not sure about the drivers etc, but there shouldn't be any problems. HD 8850m is around the same performance or a bit better than gt 750m.

For gaming the better GPU will give you more performance increase. Also taking in account that i7-4702mq is already a really powerful CPU and you don't really need anything more powerful than that for gaming, the stronger GPU will give you more benefits. So yeah - i7-4702mq + gt 750m all the way.

For those needs definitely laptop. If you get a tablet for writing long sheets of paper - you're gonna have a bad time. Ofcourse you can get a keyboard for the tablet, too, but that's still not going to cut it, as the small tablet screen will strain your eyes during long periods of writing.

Not really. The CPU is an ultra low voltage processor, and it's pretty weak. Also the main thing you need for gaming is a dedicated Graphics card. And this laptop doesn't have it. So you must find something with a real GPU. For that budget, look for something like - HD 7670m, Hd 8750m, GT 730...

Better than what? For that price, it will be ok for gaming! :) Don't expect to run everything on ultra though, but medium/high settings should work, and Ultra for some older games. :)

So I found 2 laptops with pretty good specs I think, the only problem is they both are on 1080p resolutions. I'd like them to be 1366x768 resolution for smoother gameplay, but I can't get those, so whichever of these are better for 1080p? Won't the gtx 765m be bottlenecked by the i3? Although...

Well, they're pretty similar, but the 8550g is a bit better than HD 4600, so I suppose it should do better for gaming. But still they would have very very similar performance, so choose whichever one has bigger HDD or other better extras.

the 1st one is the best probably, and it will run minecraft nicely, but at reduced settings. But that's not a problem because minecraft looks pretty much the same on highest and lowest settings. :D

Well, Im pretty sure that your laptop isn't upgradable, You will have to buy a new laptop if you want to play new games. Yours is not meant to play games.
