I tried Onlive on the PC and it's definitely promising. I think cloud gaming has promise but it still needs a lot of work. The lag is a serious issue. It was impossible to play online etc... The next gen needs to skip cloud gaming as it stands and stick with hard-copies.
I used Virgin Mobile with an Android phone for 2 years. 35 dollars a month for unlimited data / text and 700 minutes a month for $25. Really can't beat that deal. I think they've raised prices recently but it's still an excellent service. I didn't have any problems with Virgin. 3G speed was...
The only reason I ever shopped at Best Buy was because of their no questions asked return policy. That changed a few years (unknown to me) and now when something breaks you have to get the "Geek Squad" clearance which is almost impossible. Then on top of that they make you wait a month while...
It seems pretty simple to me. To end the vast majority of piracy they just need to make costs more reasonable. $0.99 streaming of old backlog movies. $3.99 new releases. $1.99 releases 6 months to 2 years old. TV episodes need to be $0.99 each or $10 for the season. Current streaming...
I generally agree the iPhone analysis. The only people I see proudly displaying their wizbang iPhones are my corporate colleagues whom recently switched from blackberry. I don't know a single person under 30 that uses anything but Android.
It's annoying, and they should definitely allow flash drives to shoulder the burden. It's possible that the flash mechanism isn't fast enough, but I doubt it.
Most likely it will just be a WII with HD graphics and probably 3D capable. Although... it would be pretty could to have something radical like a headset display.
People expect tech services to get cheaper over time. Raising prices without offering anything in return is a mistake.
It's not really a significant increase... but it will be perceived that way, and they will likely lose more revenue from customer loss than they will gain in extra fees...
^^ Ummm ^^ Unless they recently raised prices it's $5/ month for Xbox live. And I think it's stupid to NOT buy it all at once. Then the price is more like $3 a month. Comparing it to car purchase is ridiculous. Most people have $30-$40 in their pockets. Very few have tens of thousands.

I'm only surprised that it took this long. I would assume that Sony will smash this crack in the next update. Meaning that you wouldn't be able to hook the PS3 up online.
No, I wouldn't buy one. If it was a PSP 2, than yes, I would. I already own a PSP and don't really see a reason to buy another. Sony is sooo close to FINALLY doing something right here. Make it a PSP 2 phone and you have an instant winner!
