Hi, I want to buy a laptop under 1000$. I don't care much for the look, but I need it for performance...for example what laptop can play better witcher 3 on highest settings.

Is it possible to increase a laptops resolution beyond its native one? Mine has max 1366x768. I want to increase it to 1600x900, can I do that? and if yes, how? A friend of mine has the same laptop but his display lets him go all the way to 1900x1080.
