Thanks to everyone for help. Ultimately replaced adapter and it started charging even 1st battery which was showing 0% charge.

Not charging even when laptop is off and new or original battery & adapter with power on are inside

Laptop won't switch on when adapter n battery even new one are both in. Working when switched on with adapter only. Inserted battery now and it shows 64% remaining but not charging. Percentage goes down if working in battery only. It means battery n adapter both ok but not charging n won't...
