To give you some perspective, I am coming from an M17 x r4 whose gpu failed recently...in fact around a week after it hit two. I'd have preferred to replace the gpu myself but my parents are understandably reluctant to spend 500$-800$ on a new 680m from ebay that may fail soon or not work on...
