Hey, So a month ago I've picked up my Beyerdynamic 990's (250 ohms) and I decided to get the best out of it. Now I am whole new to "high-end" audio. So I have no idea what a DAC is or an AMP, read some forums, didn't really help. My budget is around 100-150 euro (110-170 dollar)...

I think I'll stay with the onboard amp for now, since I've like 100 euro left.. I'm also located in the Netherlands btw. Did not fuzzle around with the switches yet, sound seemed good. Also what are the differences betweena a DAC and an AMP?

Hey, yes it helped a lot. I've decided to pick up the DT 990 250 ohms + the DT 770 80 ohms, for testing purpose. I find the 990 having a similar bass as the DT 770, however some sounds are a bit weird and suck on the DT 990, could this be because of having no amp? Thank you

I had an open headset before this one (Razer Megolodon) really like that I can hear my own voice while talking and that my ears get more air, other than that I love these headphones so much better.

I use them for listening to melodic death metal, some rap and gaming.
