I was wondering if anyone knew if this on-amp/audio chip can handle the Beyerdynamic DT 770 250 ohms?

- Gigabyte Z97 Sniper G1

Thanks in advance

From what I could find it looks like the creativesound is the same as the creative soundblaster fatality cards, which are rated up to 600ohm headphones. So it should drive them, especially at 6x gain.

If you are looking for a big difference in sound no. from what I remember, the 250 ohm had less bass, more polite treble and slightly bigger soundstage. These differences are small though. What are you looking for in a headphone?

Well if you can do open headphones, I always recommend the AKG k612 as a good all around for music and gaming. Otherwise if you like the dt770 pro, stick with it. They are not a bad set, and fit your needs from the sounds of it.

I had an open headset before this one (Razer Megolodon) really like that I can hear my own voice while talking and that my ears get more air, other than that I love these headphones so much better.

you may look at the dt990 pro then. They are like an open version of the DT770. other than that I would stick with them, look into a better amp/DAC if you want to get the dt990's.
