Tried that and it didn't work, i kept getting a message saying "Missing Operating System". I figured a virus must have deleted some very critical start-up files. So i went ahead and backed up the user data, and reinstalled windows 7. No problems since then (knock on wood).

How can i do that? Also, when i hit F8 (slow or fast), nothing happens. It just continues to the black screen

The laptop would turn on, I would see the option for the bios menu and the boot menu on the Toshiba splash screen, but then once the screen clears, i see a little cursor blink about 4-5 times, then the screen just stays black. I thought it was a very bad virus, so i pulled the HDD out and...
