AC adapter buzzing noise when laptop under load.

Pretty much yeah. I'm a student, and short on paper at the moment, so I decided to cheap out on a power adapter, which is not a good thing to do, of course. Problem is, I have an ASUS K501, which requires a 4.74A adapter. The original one is pretty expensive, it's about $80. But I'll buy a new...

AC adapter buzzing noise when laptop under load.

Yeah, I did some research, seems like a pretty "natural" thing. The adapter I'm using is a replacement one, not an original adapter, but I'll definitely get a new original one in the near future, as long as it's just a coil whine.

Thanks, I don't know much about electronics so this kind of worried the heck out of me. Best of luck to you!

AC adapter buzzing noise when laptop under load.

Wow, now this is something new. The fun part is that the sound appears and disappears exactly when I want it to. For example, when I close the game or ALT+TAB from the game, it's just gone. Hopefully it won't melt, because I already had one adapter melted, after I messed it up a while ago.

AC adapter buzzing noise when laptop under load.

Greetings. I tried to launch a CPU intensive game today, and as soon as I start it, I hear some sort of a quiet buzzing sound coming from my AC adapter. As soon as I shut it, the noise is gone. I'm starting to worry that the adapter might be dying. Tried different power outlets, same problem...

ASUS K501LX didn't turn on. Fixed, but worried.

Greetings. I bought an ASUS K501LX laptop about 1,5 years ago. Today, I had this problem. I left the laptop turned on for about half an hour. When I came back, the laptop was off. Tried to turn it on, the power LED was on, but the laptop didn't want to turn on. No fan, no HDD, nothing. So I...

Is it safe to update Nvidia drivers from GeForce Experience?

I'm asking because the last laptop I had, had an AMD GPU, and if I installed the driver from the official AMD website, I'd be getting constant BSODs and system crashes. I guess it's not the case with Nvidia mobile GPUs.

Is it safe to update Nvidia drivers from GeForce Experience?

Hello. I have an ASUS K501LX-NB52 with Intel HD Graphics 5500 and also a GTX 950M. My question is, is it safe to update to newest drivers from GeForce Experience (GeForce Game Ready Driver)? Officially, mobile GPU drivers should be downloaded from the manufacturer's website, but what if I want...

Stuck audio jack in my Lenovo G570 port

How is the cotton swab method going to work if even the needle burning method didn't work? Tried to pull out the MOBO yesterday using some guides on the Lenovo website, took out like 25 screws and then I had to pull out the keyboard and the LCD screen, but I didn't manage to do that and...

Stuck audio jack in my Lenovo G570 port

I'm just not sure how could an USB port match with the audio card which uses the 3,5mm ports... P.S. The needle heating method didn't work. It sticked so well that I had to use most of my force to pull it away, but I pulled only the needle, not the headphone jack. I was so sad that it didn't work...

Stuck audio jack in my Lenovo G570 port

Also would a such thing work on a laptop for plugging headphones? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/External-USB-3D-Sound-Card-Virtual-7-1-CH-Audio-Laptop-USB-Extension-Cable/1615328779.html

Stuck audio jack in my Lenovo G570 port

I've been thinking and realised that it is way too simple. How about taking a sewing needle, heating it till it gets red, touching the headphone jack with the hot needle for 3-5 minutes and pull it out? Is it risky?
